Connecting on a personal level is an important part of sharing ideas. On this page we
present some details about FOSI.
FOSI is an independent non-profit organization
that works with the Medfield Council On Aging primarily to raise funds supporting programs and activities aimed at the
betterment of Medfield's resident senior population. FOSI's income is derived solely by donations
and fund raising projects. FOSI receives no financial assistance from the Town of Medfield, the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts, or any other government agency.
Because the COA budget is limited by town approval and lacks
the ability and flexibility to support, or offer programs outside this budget, FOSI can step in to raise
and supply the funds needed to support unbudgeted COA projects and programs.
Since 2002 FOSI
has been actively involved in fundraising efforts for a new Senior/Adult Center for the Town of Medfield. These efforts have
helped to fund items not budgeted by the town for The Center at Medfield which held its Grand Opening on January 6, 2008.
Various fundraisers have included Yard Sales, Dances, Wine Tastings, Art Shows, the donation of register tapes
from Shaw's Supermarkets and many other projects.
Buy-A-Brick
FOSI's "Buy a Brick" Program continues to be a highly successful effort for helping to fund
The Center. Donors may permanently memorialize family members or friends with a laser-engraved brick. These lasting mementos
have been a very popular source for donations. For further information on this program, please go to: Getting Involved
Buy-A-Bear
FOSI offers customized Teddy Bears that make unique
keepsakes and gifts. These Teddy Bears may be crafted from a favorite piece of material, the shirt of a loved one or
from virtually any fabric that is available in sufficient quantity to construct the Teddy Bear. Details for ordering your
